Dear Alderman Murphy, City of Milwaukee, and All Interested Parties!

Thanks for helping to make Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an excellent place!

I would ask you to consider new methods for fighting graffiti;

SINCE:

The unlawful assault on the property of another may occur by graffiti.

This damage by paint or other method may last for hours to weeks or even months to years.

The crews assigned to remove such graffiti may not be able to immediately remove it, even

when aware of it.

It appears that the evil Graffiti writers know that their claims and attempts to intimidate

people with markings will remain for some length of time, even if reported, due to the

demands placed on the Graffiti removers.

In fact, that the evil doers who have made these marks do indeed succeed every minute it

is visible, often many days, and in some places, even years...

For every minute the graffiti exits, it plainly appears as if they own this place, this area,

it belongs to them and they will do whatever they want, no matter who it hurts.

While it remains, it is a disgusting, intimidating, illegal, and a frightening, assault, that

demands no less than a well-organized and immediate response.

While it remains, it indicates that no one cares about this place, that criminals rule here,

that the good is defenseless.

THEN:

A more immediate response to help negate and disapprove, to immediately show that

no right was given for this abuse of property, and that these people do not own or have

claim to this area, that they have no right to commit evil here, and that their attempt to

intimidate people fails here and now, can be employed.

CREATE A “SLASH TO SAY NO!” ANTI GRAFFITI METHOD:

As soon as possible, and certainly within hours, apply a 45* slash mark, from the top left

of the graffiti to the bottom right area over the graffiti vandalism. Then apply the term:

“NO” at the bottom and end of the line.

RESULT:

The result is a simple and immediate denial of the message. The message in return to this

evil is that you may assault this place and damage it and force your ugly upon the innocent,

but we will act to stop you!

The message to all who see the graffiti vandalism, is that you can place your marks and

threaten us, but;

WE DENY YOU!

You will not succeed!

We see your ugly marks and your message hereby fails!

We will fight your evil methods immediately!

This place will defend the good and honorable!

NO, to your evil! NO, to your assault! NO, to graffiti!

We will fight back, every time!

The graffiti victim feels better, that there was an urgent response and something done

immediately to offset the assault, which helps their pain and suffering about it. They are

re-assured that the graffiti will be removed as soon as possible, that further help will be

coming to them.

The community feels better when they witness such mark, knowing that all the graffiti will

soon be erased, and that the message itself, is denied.

Also, the evil doers may be anxious to return to erase the slash mark as soon as possible,

which may offer an improved ability to catch them in the act.

We hope that you keep in mind that we are proud of the efforts of the City Of Milwaukee to

remove graffiti, and we thank you for your good and continuing efforts, and submit these

comments to encourage an even more excellent place, for this Milwaukee, Wisconsin and

these, our United States Of America.
